twitter. i love it.

Many of my mommy friends make fun of me for being a twittergeek, but I have to say it keeps me in touch with the world. Check out the following article about twitter.... this "social network" reported the SoCal earthquake a full NINE MINUTES before it got out on the AP wire.... and hundreds of tweets were out telling people what had happened and that they were ok. THAT is good enough for me to want to use twitter.

And I love feeling connected to the rest of the world! So there, mommies. You'll come around. Half of you are on facebook already, so don't say I didn't tell you so!

days in the life of summer....

So those lazy days of summer can best be described in pictures. The days sort of flow into one another, and after a while it becomes difficult to determine WHAT day it actually IS... since nothing is ever the same, week after week, in the summer. One week you're cruising the Mexican Riviera (and boy do we miss it) and the next it's time for swim dates and day camp. And hanging out with friends, going to hear bands, playing at the park....

but somehow it doesn't feel all that lazy. There is far too much running around, shuttling from one thing to the next to really feel lazy. But I do love summer.

P is a little fish in the pool these days... thanks to all our lovely friends with POOLS! That is the greatest gift... to be able to use the pool (and hang out with friends) but not be responsible for the pool!


I captured this one day from the car's thermometer... what the heck! The weather has been all over the place this summer, from crazy hot to freezing cold. A few days have been perfect.

This is what happens when my phone gets into the hands of little girls...Either that or Ariel and Eric are trying to get their headshots on my facebook account...

I'm so grateful for my hot mamma friends! We are a fun pack o'gals. I'm sorry for the blinking shot, Kelly... that is payback for telling my 20-something new neighbors that you were their TEACHER in high school!

On 7/11 it is FREE SLURPEE day at the 7-11! and my girls don't let me forget it... we have it on our calendars!

So we met the other Browns at the 7-11 and hung out on the corner, slurpin' slurpees. how summer is that? huh?

Miss Millie is a natural at soccor, much to daddy's delight. He is so eager to have a soccor player in the family that he found the class, signed her up, bought her soccor gear, and took her himself! You go, dad! Millie is going to pay for our house with her soccor scholarship, i'm positive.


Either that or her swimming scholarship....

Ok, check out the Spazmotics! What a hilarious band... I went with a bunch of girlfriends and had a blast!! With sexy guys like these, how could you not??


Penelope has become quite the little artist, and is taking both a painting class and a drawing class. This is a piece she was working on at home, after combining primary colors to create a palette of different colors---it was fun to see all the different shades of green and purple we could come up with.

One of our favorite summer (well year round but P can attend more often in summer) activities is visiting my dad. Nonno loves his grandkids, and our favorite spot to visit is for pizza and Starbucks. My dad loves his Starbucks. The girls are holding tiny tiny little princess dolls that they suckered me into buying for them at a buck a piece in a vending machine. Oh, the thrill of the vending machine... which princess will come out?? Of course, jasmine was promptly lost. She's out on an adventure in a nearby resteraunt, never to be heard from again...

Fish Ranch Road Rocks Big Time

ok so i'll admit i'm behind on blogging. It's all Facebook's fault. With their little "mobile uploads" that makes it so easy just to shoot a pic to my FB page, so then it is there for all the (facebook)world to see... so those of you stuck in 2007 who refuse to get a Facebook page and don't want to keep up with the ever-twittering world will have to wait a little longer to get images on this blog. Do you like the new look, by the way?

I'm on the Civic Action Commission for the city I live in, and one of our responsibilities is to oversee the Concert By the Lake summer series. It seems like most cities sponsor some sort of concert series over the summer, doesn't it? Well, anyway, we choose the bands and I really wanted Fish Ranch Road to be in the line-up this year. So I brought their CD in to the commission and told them--you gotta book these guys! Now I don't have the best track record. Last year I booked the kids band and it turned out to be not such a great thing. I've booked a different kids band this year, so we'll see how THAT one goes. If they are bad, I won't be booking anything in the future!

I'll just say that the Taylor family is awesome, and Steve Taylor, one of the singers/writers/guitar/bango/ukalaylee playing guys for Fish Ranch Road is unbelievably awesome. We had so much fun rocking out with the band, and they were a huge hit with the crowd. Expect them back next year. Absolutely.

Fourth of July

So the Ferrons like to take pictures almost as much as I do. Wait, maybe more than I do. At any rate, all of these images are from Shawn Ferron's new 40D Canon! And he did a great job. Except that he and Sandra were asking me to adjust their settings every 5 minutes. :) NO problem, I love it! At least my sister will be proud that I know something, even if that is a tiny something. So these pictures are from the morning, from the adorable home town parade! Doesn't even cover the rockin party that we had at our house later that night along with kickass fireworks. Shooting the fireworks was really fun. I'll get to that tomorrow. For now, here you go...

Crusin with the Family

Whoever said that a cruise was relaxing has not been on a Disney Cruise. "Relaxing" with over 1000 children onboard does not exactly equate. However, there was much fun to be had at every turn. Mickey, Minnie, various Princesses, and all kinds of characters were on hand to greet, meet, and enthrall those of all ages (but mostly the 10 and under set). Below is a fraction of images from our week, but for those of you eager to get a glimpse, here you go!

We kayaked on the ocean, rode little roadsters through the streets of Mazatlan, and cruised the streets of Puerta Vallarta as well! We also petted a real lion cub, swam in the Mickey pool, and ate lots of sweets. phew! We had Mickey ice cream pops EVERY night. Work out, here I come...
