A Day in the Life

No pictures today, I guess. For some reason I can't seem to post them. Well, a story will have to do. I love watching the girls play together. They just adore each other. Millie wants to do anything that sister is doing, and Penelope loves the attention from her younger sis, so it is a great combination. Today Penelope was reading to Millie --well, telling her the story of the book-- and Millie was listening intently. They play chase and hide-and-go-seek. Penelope uses Millie as a ploy to get out of things, or get to do things... "Millie, do you want to take a nap?" "No!" "See mom, she doesn't want to take a nap right now!" well who would, with sister revving you up to play?? If Penelope wants Wheatabix, Millie wants Wheatabix. Well, Wheatabix it is! Wheatabix for all! mmmm, good stuff.

Happy Birthday to Penelope even though it's July

Since this blog is new, I've decided to add a few pictures from our recent past, especially since April 15, 2006 was an important day for our Princess Penelope. The Pony Party was a big success, and actually held on April 30. Fun in Fairyland

Jules and I decided to get the heck out of Pleasant Hill and escape the 115 degree heat and hit the west side of the tunnel... a full 20 degrees cooler!! hooray for 85 degrees!! Where better than Fairyland, a little disneyland in the East Bay. It is full of characters from kids stories, starting with "The little old lady who lived in a shoe!"


Millie LOVED the Merry-Go-Round. She rode around and around all by herself. She was actually supposed to be over 2 to ride it, but we let her anyway. I was afraid she would fall off, but she was so proud of herself and sat very still. It was hard to get her off the ride!!

Jumping on the Bed

I love this sequence of Penelope and Millie on the bed... they thought it was such a hoot to throw themselves down on the bed and bounce around. I took the images with a blast from my sister's 20D Canon. When I told them to jump, they just stared at me while I clicked away. Finally Penelope went down, and then Millie. Funny girls.

there is something about a sister, a best friend, a confidante... we are sitting together right now, macs side by side, geekin it up... talking.... i love watching p and m together, how cute they are and concerned for each other. today millie fell off her chair and there was penelope, right at her side and concerned for her well being! such a good sister! milile gets so excited to pick up her sister after camp or school or wherever p is these days....

i just know how much my sister means to me, and i want my girls to have the same relationship.

kim and kathryn were our very best friends here in the bay area, but since the area is so brutal to most adults making a decent (not outragous) living, they moved to washington.
