Happy Valentine's Day!

On the morning of February 14 the girls woke up to find some fun presents left for them by the Valentine Fairy... also known as a very thoughtful daddy!! A fun card filled with words for our newly emerging reader Penelope and an adorable Snow White (millie's favorite princess) card were perfect for each of them.

And couldn't believe she got to eat M&MS for breakfast!! What could be better??


This shot was taken with my timer, and although I wish it were more centered, I love that the girls smiled for the camera with no one in front of it.. well, at least Millie! Look at that award-winning smile! Click on the photo for a closer look. :)

100 Days of School!

To celebrate 100 Days of School, the kids brought 100 items (Penelope brought pennys) and ate 100 (a sausage and two bagels...pretty clever, eh?)! They wore funny hats and did special activities... isn't kindergarten fun??

Last week for the President's Day Holidays Penelope and Millie were invited to a "mother-daughter" tea at the home of Jill, John, Julia, and Jordan Shin. Julia is a classmate of Penelope's and her mother Jill is a professional baker! Her cakes are unbelievable--it was an honor to enjoy her baking for the party! All of the cookies and the cake were made by hand--and they were exquisite!

Julia had her own collection of Dalmations, which my girls quickly found and insisted I photograph!

On the day that Penelope did not have school we were able to visit Daddy at his office in the hip town of Emeryville. Bay Street is a cool street with shops and resteraunts, and a fun spot to visit! I thought Brett looked so handsome in his suit and like such an adorable dad with his little kiddos trotting alongside!

Millie loves the ball statues and wanted me to photographer her on them. Funny girl...

It is such a cute video of Penelope and one of her best friends hamming it up for themselves in a mirror at the H&M store in San Francisco. We had just found these adorable pink t-shirts of Marie Kitty, which Penelope immediately fell in love with. It takes a few minutes to load up, so be patient!!

Millie the Model

The other day, on a quick trip to the mall (yea i know, yuck) we passed the Picture People. Now, since I have a professional photographer for a sister, there is really no reason to go to the PP for photos, but MILLIE was the one who pulled me in and wanted to do it!! She happened to be wearing her cute Christmas dress since we had been to a little party earlier that day, and no one was there, so they could pretty much take us right then. I figured, what the heck. Millie was adorable!! She was mugging for the camera, flirting with the photographer, and doing everything she was told to do. I think she'd be great in commercials or for print work, but there is really no way I'd subject her to that. So here is the result of some cuuute photography! These aren't the original files, just a photo i took of the photo, so that's why the quality isn't fantastic. But she was so cute I had to post it.






This last shot is actually Penelope as a toddler... thought you'd like a comparison on how much they look alike at the same age!!

Penelope the Artist

Penelope has become quite the little artist lately, utilzing her new easel, thanks to Babcia, frequently to make all sorts of presents for others-- her favorite things to draw are dalmations, pigs, and cats (mostly lewis and boo). She does a great job, and has taken to also narrating the drawings herself. Hooray for Kindergarten and learning to read! Millie is working hard to be like big sister. Sometimes Penelope will draw the picture and Millie will color it in! I love how they work together.
