Summer is officially here

One of the first things that signifies Summer is the Farmers Market. Of course, it is an ongoing, yearly market, but in summer there is so much life, and music... and bubbles... friends meet us and we play there longer, going for ice cream, buying books at the half-price bookstore, and generally just enjoying the plaza and being lazy on Tuesdays. Tuesdays are good days.
Millie is ready to go to the Market, dressed as a fairy, with her own little bag.

We had such a nice father's day, taking my dad out to breakfast, just me and the girls. It was so great to have him to myself, and you can see he's having a great time! Millie photographed this one.

Speaking of Millie, she is getting to be a superstar on the rocks... I am a proud mamma. I did a rock climbing competition last week---it is addicting!

Another sign of summer--camping! Here Penelope documents what is going on at the campsite, just like mommy. That's my girl!

And finally, I was really thrilled with Penelope's Brownie troop this year, such a fantastic group of girls. They ended the year with a fun campout, and here is Penelope doing skits... they were adorable, the same skits WE used to do as kids....

One last note: it was with a bittersweetness that Penelope ended the first grade... I love summer, but it is always sad to see the end of the school year and that class. At Open House, the girls visited the second grade classes to check them out, and here Millie plays "teacher," keeping all the big kids in line and entertained. Pretty good, eh?
