In keeping with a time-honored tradition, my mother showed up at my younger brother's high school today with a clown, balloons, and cupcakes! oh yea. Penelope and Millie thought it was fantastic, but of course the 16 year old was more than embarrassed. He had heard about this tradition for years--the time my mother came to my school with a bouquet of mylar balloons while dressed as a clown for my sister and my 16th bday... and he didn't think it would happen to him?! come on! I told Penelope to just wait, her day would come. She thinks it's great now, wait 10 years! ha! I managed to embarrass myself a little bit, wearing my "Tex Fan" balloon hat like a good fan, and Penelope was proud to read her self published birthday book to Uncle --complete with secret surprise flaps!! Go P!

sooo cute!! I love it and i wish i could have been there.
How on earth is he 16 already? Has it been that long since I worked in Service Learning with you? Wow! What a fun day...if a little embarrassing! :)
We are so blessed! What a wonderful memory. I am SO glad you are part of it all. Is it a memory or a nightmare being that you still recall your 16th birthday experience?
So fun to see the Brown family in action! The girls are adorable! It's fun to check in and see how much they have grown.
