First Day of Kindergarten!!

Penelope was a very excited 5 year old today, as today was her first day of kindergarten. Dad stayed late from work to make pancakes in honor of this occasion. We packed up her pink Marie Kitty backpack with school supplies and snacks, plus a little present for the teacher--Mrs. Snitzelaar. While mom and dad were a mighty wreck, she went in to the classroom with vigor!! She is so good! She said that her favorite part of the day was recess and seeing her friends. Here she is! Mrs. Snitzlaar!!! Hooray! I survived my first day of kindergarten... the kids all made buttons for their moms and dads.

We celebrated by meeting my mom and jeffrey for sushi.. I'm wearing a "penelope's mom" pin that she made me last year.
